I am still excited by this idea but the JS (F3->IBL) project will be occupying my space, at least until summer '20.
I hope to get a volume of seeds both from this JS grow (Indica) and a CBD run which I will start when it seems reasonable. Those may feed a Welcome Pack project.
Feel free to carry the conversation forward or run with aspects that inspire you. I will chime in if it gets interesting.
I think this pretty much lost its drive. Apart from @AllOra who is busy with a different project, is there anyone thinking of actually doing a seed run for this (or hand out a stash they have)?

This is perfect timing almost for me. Iāve got some super silver yo mama f2s going, (current pics will be up tonight in the bodhi thread) but they have a very interesting smell to me, real loud, and the line is discontinued Iām pretty sure. Theyāre finishing most likely by the new year and Iāve got like 10 left, not to sure, but I would be more than happy to run them for seed.
They also underwent a lot of stress this run, ph issues, n deficiency, etc and have still produced buds with very nice terp profiles. Iād say this could be beginners worthy. Oh, and it has ssh as the mom so thereās some haze.
No. I donāt like the idea at all. Not that Iām against giving seed away. Cos Iām gonna be doing just that. But letās not fuck about trying to make some system to send out seeds. Itās been a case of if you wanna trade. Trade. If you want testers. Ask for testers. Why bounce seeds about the planet unnecessarily for someone to divvy them out or maybe not divvy them out and just sit on them.
We donāt need a system in place to take over an unwritten system that already works. We donāt need beurocracy here. Does no one any favours

While I am not currently able to take up an additional seed run, I am still enthusiastic about the idea. There is no reason why this couldnāt begin as a distributed effort.
I have found that, with abundant seeds, the regular postage is trivial. An inch or two of seed-loaded irrigation tubing stopped with cotton goes into an envelope (maybe a sheet of bubble wrap) with a stamp on it. Send 20, if they donāt arrive, send more.
Until we are up and running it could be informal, āsecretā, and free. We could keep a list of willing āwelcomersā and coordinate a welcome.
Still brainstorming. Several ideas here are pre-coffee.
Haha I probably shouldāve read the rest of the ideas to see how weāve gotten here. What are the prerequisites to do a co-op preservation run? Iād be down to do one with the rest of these for the people who really wanna run them.

Iām doing an auto grow with 2 Red Poison x Dark Devilsā¦Iām leaning towards hitting them with some Greenhouse Seeds Big Bang Auto femmed pollen. Would give a few hundred femmed āBig Red Devilā seeds to the welcome packs. If it helps Overgrow, it helps us all!

Because a pack with any sativa dominant strains is wasted on someone such as myself. Sativas always exacerbate my mental issues, especially since I became brain damaged, and I can even hallucinate and go into a psychotic freakoutā¦
Indicas on the other hand relieve me of my physical pain, and a great deal of my existential dread.
We wouldnāt wanna sell people seeds of existential dread!
Honestly, wouldnāt it be easier to recommend a strain or a direction and users just go and buy it at a seedbank in their area? $20ā30 should get them a 3pack or better to start with, or a few packs from Sebring plus shipping outside of the US.
I donāt see how OG is going to provide this, and on top is supposed to cater for everybodyās special needs. An auto or photo pack here, an indica or sativa pack there, Not saying it shouldnāt happen if there are people volunteering, but to me it seems like there are not a lot really.
