I concur this is not the case.

Yield and potency are usually timed together just right.

Thanks. So many variables that could effect the outcome. I guess I need to keep trying!

If you were growing two completely different cultivars then that could be it.
There’s a whole galaxy of different effects possible with this plant, which are for the most part dependent on genetics.

Into week 10 of flower for these GDP clones, Bubba Kush, and White Widow. I’m guessing that I’m getting close. Maybe another week but those pistils are still hanging around in large numbers.

Welcome my friend. I hope you like it here. Peace

Nice looking plants my friend.

Within current grow tent is this White Widow. I think this one is getting closer…

Agreed. Chop chop chop

Thank You Shadey and Foreigner. I chopped today. Wet trimmed and fingers would not separate just halfway through the plant. OMG! This is what happens when you grow to bona fide maturity. This shit is going to be deadly for smoke - can’t wait to try it. Put her into drying tent for now. Follow up soon.

What about this critical?

I’d guess another week.
It looks like it is still popping pistils at a good rate.

I hope I didn’t screw this plant up. A member in another forum said the plant was no where near maturity, chopped way to early at 10 weeks, and it was not fed properly. If this guy is right then this plant goes in the trash. This plant is supposed to average 7-9 weeks flower and I went 10ish. Pistils gone or red, trichomes turning amber, and plant changed colors toward the end. Very frustrating trying to dial in the right chop time with so many online peanut galleries screaming chop now vs. wait another 6 years plus Cal mag!

I noticed a lot of your trichomes shots were of leaves an not buds. Providing both in this context will result in conflicting advice.

Hi Gizmo,
Thank You for that million dollar observation that no one else has brought up. I’ll be providing both in future posts. The leaves are actually on the bud but no other context provided. Believe it or not, I’m so new to this that my first grow I was checking trichs on the fan leaves! Yeah. Until I came across a post telling someone where not to take the trich pictures. I’m going to soak a couple of new seeds today and get ready to try again with a 11-12 week flower before chopping.

We live and we learn brother ! To this day deciding when to chop is the most stressful moment so coulda went longer some coulda been chopped early it’s all a toss up IMO until you grow out the same strain /clone then you can get a good feel of what trichomes look like before said plant is ready

We’re putzing along with this GDP. Looks like a disaster now but the signals have taken this long. This plant was watered just yesterday. First grow (mother plant) was good but chopped too early at 102 days from seed. This one I have no idea while some tell me if was ready a week ago and others say not quite ready. I’ve only recently learned and been paying more attention to pistils changing colors no matter what week I’m on. Captured some trich pics below.

You have a big window. “Oh no I chopped them at day 75 when I should have shopped at 70.”

Not really a big deal.

I just grew 3 plants from the same seed pack and one went 11 one went 12 and one went 13 weeks. Sure there was some differences in the phenos but if I had just chopped them all at week 12 it would have been fine.

See I’m like my friend. Lol when it looks good I’ll pull it. Then I say what!!! Could have gone a minute more. I’m like @Shadey on the call. They get to stinky. Lol great bud shots. I make sure the have a good drying. Just me. Again nice pictures. They are a bit young. But I never get it right. It does make a big difference.
