Mornin @m0sirys, thanks for the compliments. That is the only area in my house I can use for growing and it is perfect. The area is 105 inches across and 110 inches deep. The shelving eats some of the space but it is great for holding seedlings.
The seedling stretch until they develop nice sized leaves then the extra stretching stops. I also did not have to invest heavily into carbon filters and fans.
My house was built before central air was a thing. It has built in air flow with a very small unsealed space between the wood and concrete foundation and an open attic on each end of the house to let air flow through.
When the air flows through the attic it sucks air from outside though the basement and up through the house. It is great for airflow and a constant source of tiny munchers and spores. When the central air kicks on in the basement and starts sucking in air if there are bedroom doors slightly ajar they will shut from the air flowing through the house to the basement.
