What’s your process for naming the plants?
Is it the first name that pops into your head? Do you sit with each plant for a while before naming them?

It’s sometimes complex, like Fuseli was my Night Terror OG, and Fuseli in real life created one of my favorite art pieces: The Nightmare

Other times, it’s just whatever… like one of the Cake Faces is named Fuck Face, lol. I usually sit on naming them until it becomes obvious, but Patient 0 was the Cake Face that got hit by thrips so…

Names are important, they bind us to this world.

The title of this broadcast, Gossamer Years, is based on Fujiwara no Michitsuna no HaHa’s diary that bears the same name. Fujiwara, who is considered one of Japan’s Three Beauties, has no name. “Fujiwara no Michitsuna no HaHa” translates to “Mother of the Fujiwara Clan”.

Tl;Dr: Names are important.

I saw your text about correcting the soil’s pH. What have you been adjusting your nutrient solution to? Have you been following the general guidelines of the video I sent ya?

The growth looks a bit odd, you haven’t flipped them to flower yet right?

This dude speaks my language, because this cheat sheet is based in Excel. I will probably take his cheat sheet and create an Excel based grow log/plan.

So I for sure have a new baseline to use when I start a new grow. And I can use this to help get the current grow on track. If the plants can’t recover, then I’ll flip to flower and hope for the best.

I’m the same way man, and honestly, this hobby kind of requires that kind of methodolgy. Don’t get it twisted, I still commit plenty of fuck ups (as you’ll see) and have quite a lot more to learn.

I’ve just hit my head enough times to know when to duck.

As for excel, I tried keeping track of my last reproduction with it. Here’s how it looked:

Cool man, thanks for sharing. I’ve usually referred to my plants based on certain features, like ‘bean pole’ or ‘fluffy bud’. The number system that most people (including me) use feels too lifeless sometimes, like a science experiment.

Don’t listen to me though! This is your show, but thanks for listing the crosses. It does help, especially w/ the big pheno hints you’re doing. Hope you find some special ones! My eyes are on Pucca Loraine and Focunda.

Yeah, I uh… started flushing a bit too soon. I gave a feeding tonight, but the deed is done. These Golden Shower crosses definitely require 70+ days of flower.

In a very very exciting outcome, a few of the Pineapple Showers are displaying a garlic profile. One phenotype is straight garlic with the truffle funk of one of the Golden Shower phenotypes, while the other is garlic with the tropical profile of the Golden Shower mother.

I took this shot of Hoochie (Rotten Tarts) right after working on the 2x4 and realized that I had to snag pics of all the plants. Because, golee.

Smells just like the bud that I got the single seed out of. Quite enthralled indeed.

I have a theory that Pucca and Pudding share both parents. Pudding is smelling stronger of key lime pie than Pucca now. It’s a chef’s kiss type profile though.

This one kinda wets my whistle. It’s got the cherry, but it’s more subtle. It’s also accompanied by that ever so recognizable gelato gas funk.

Thus far, I believe Hoochie will be the first to get reversed. Out of the Wedding Cake hybrids, Pucca, Pudding, and Plim Plim are by far my favorite profiles. Everyone else smells very similar, and it’s a bit difficult to describe. I’d generally describe it as candy gas.

As a side note, I’ve also lobbed the 4x5 clones in with these as I plan to pollinate them with Cake Face pollen.

An update on those clones is that everyone is showing signs of reveg.

I also have some Thurja Giant seeds going, but I doubt anything will come of them. I’ve tried all sorts of germination methods for the past few months with no sucess.

Now, back to the Cake Face.

I’m going to assume that his siblings also share a sensitivity to becoming rootbound, which is what I’m accrediting the flowering to.

I sprayed everyone with some IPM and called it a night.

Lastly, please do not forget about the Aloe Reitzii. She deserves a name, I’ll have to think of one soon.
