Doug is right on… that the search bar will give you all kinds of info your seeking.
However, I would humbly suggest that with your 1st grow, if this will be your first grow, that you do not go out and spend all kinds of 
on beans just yet. I would suggest using seeds from friends or from the OG.
A good place to find some beans is Mystery Seeds Give Away Thread . I am sure there are oodles of great beans to be had there.

Hey all, some may know me already, but for those that don’t, I am the breeder / chucker behind the seed brand - Dragons Flame Genetics. I am a long-time traditional market grower and been breeding now about a decade. I first learned to grow in the hills of California, in an area at the borders of Amador and calaveras county in Cali (Mokelumne hill / Glencoe) I moved to Oregon and did 8 or so seasons in Oregon, then 1 in Mendocino (Covelo / Pigeon and chicken Ridge) Helping a black-market guy go rec on some of his properties, and then back to Oregon for 2 more years. My wife and I then moved to the Big Island of Hawaii for 2 years, and now I’m back in Oregon since June. So, I’ve gotten to experience growing in several different states now, across vastly different Climates. I also do indoor, but outdoor full term / short season is my passion. Nothing like walking amongst the giants. Some of my flagship lines include the Dragons Stash, Blackberry Moonshine, well my entire “moonshine” family tree really, Amber Dragon, and Congolese Kush, among others. I’m just a farmer - no investors, or deep pockets, just smoke to god damn much to smoke mids, or boof. Im constantly working to make the best new new stuff that I want to smoke on, while also preserving the heritage and legacy of heirloom genetics.

Sorry I have been AWOL for a bit. I was out of the country and have been tryin to get things cleaned back up. I tore my rotator cuff during the end of the last box. Then I went and further tore another ligament while on my vacation. I have been cleaning up equipment one armed.
I apologize for all folks I have missed and would love to welcome you all to the OG community

Guess I’m the newest kid on the bud for the moment and I’m very excited to be a member here. I’m a relatively new grower having had two successful grows. I grow outdoors exclusively. Sounds weird, but I don’t have anyplace for even a small tent, so outdoors it is.
This looks like a really informative site. I actually learned about OG at another growing site. The person mentioned the fab photos. I’ve been looking (and reading) around a bit, and shit-howdy was s/he right! Some beautiful pics not to mention interesting sounding threads.
